Mr. Ruiz has assisted in the evaluation of residential and commercial structures for damages resulting from a variety of perils, including but not limited to hail, wind, and water intrusion.
Prior to joining Nelson, he gained experience in the design consulting industry, assisting in the design of braced frames, structural stud and shear walls, foundations, and column and beam connections for mid-rise apartments, custom residential homes, low-rise commercial, and high-rise towers and complexes. Mr. Ruiz also managed multiple projects during design and construction, coordinated with the client architects, developed complex and complete shop drawings, and performed on-site construction administration services.
Mr. Ruiz holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Architectural Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin. During his time at university, Mr. Ruiz was active in the EERI Seismic Design Competition representing the University of Texas and the local chapter of the Architectural Engineering Institute focused on professional development and student collaboration.
